Not only this - Hof is not a freak of nature - anyone who practises his technique can train themselves to do the same. ![]() Wim Hof is essentially able to control his hypothalamus - the part of the brain that helps to control body temperature. Up until recently, no one thought this was possible. ![]() This is a meditation technique that has been scientifically proven to influence the autonomic nervous system and the immune system. The Wim Hof Method is re-writing science as I type these words. Although I haven’t yet hiked up snowy mountains half naked or practised headstands on ice, I did sample one of the most important and revolutionary methods of meditation I’ve ever come across. Over the summer of 2015, I decided to give the Wim Hof Method a go. I believe it’s a mix of all of the above, but if I were to sum up what the Wim Hof Method really is - I’d say it’s a way to reclaim your inner power - mentally, physically and spiritually. A technique to help control your body’s temperature? A powerful form of meditation? A practical tool to help cure disease?
